Brecht van Hulten in gesprek met programmamaker Niek Barendsen. Barendsen is de man achter de succesvolle tv-series Welkom in de Gouden Eeuw, Welkom bij de Romeinen en Welkom in de jaren 60. Na Welkom in de Prehistorie is het nu tijd voor dichterbij: de wilde jaren 70 en de spannende jaren 80 in Welkom in de jaren 70 en 80. Uit dit tijdperk staan de bekende koppen velen van ons nog helder voor de geest. Aan de allerbeste acteurs en imitatoren als Pien van Bennekom, Rogier in 't Hout, Alex Klaasen, Ellen Pieters en Niek Barendsen zelf de eer om de beroemdheden van toen te spelen in Welkom in de jaren 70 en 80. De serie is vanaf zaterdag 1 februari te zien bij de NTR op NPO ZAPP/NPO 3. De serie is geschreven en geregisseerd door Niek Barendsen, onder eindredactie van Loes Wormmeester en met Nelleke Noordervliet als historisch adviseur.
