Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met theatermaker Raymi Sambo. Sambo maakt met zijn eigen theatergezelschap de theatervoorstelling Duizend aanslagen op de Obama’s: een theatervoorstelling over Michelle en Barack Obama. In deze voorstelling wordt een biopic gemaakt van het echtpaar, acht jaar nadat ze het Witte Huis verlieten. Ze worden gefilmd tijdens pittige relatietherapie sessies waarin ze terugblikken op hun periode in het Witte Huis, een plek waarin ze zich nooit echt thuis voelden. Acht jaar na hun vertrek uit het Witte Huis zoeken Barack en Michelle Obama naar hun plek in de samenleving. Michelle is een bestseller auteur en een van de invloedrijkste Amerikanen van dit moment. Barack reist over de hele wereld om lezingen te geven en campagnes te voeren. Maar in een wereld van extremisme en centrumrechts denken neemt hun relevantie en invloed af.
