Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met schrijver Ruben Jacobs. Jacobs is schrijver en natuurgids. Zijn nieuwste boek Waar de bijen slapen gaat het over de moestuin van buitenplaats Jagtlust. Waar de tuin vroeger een bron van voedsel was voor welvarende families, is het tegenwoordig vooral een plek die rust en ritme biedt aan de kwetsbaren onder ons. Ruben Jacobs werkte een jaar lang als vrijwilliger op de zorgtuin. De mensen, de tuin en het bos eromheen blijken al snel een omgeving waar verwondering je kan overvallen, waarin mens en natuur elkaar ontmoeten en beïnvloeden. Terwijl de seizoenen veranderen, laat de tuin zien dat alles voortdurend in beweging is en dat er troost te vinden is in elkaars aanwezigheid. Jacobs is naast schrijver en natuurgids ook docent aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Eerder werkte hij als journalist voor de VPRO en de NTR, en schreef hij meerdere boeken, waaronder De eeuw van Felix.
