Annemieke Bosman praat met Sanneke Huisman over de tentoonstelling Ekstasis - Een universum van licht en geluid. Ekstasis - Een universum van licht en geluid Van zinsbegoochelende installaties tot subtiel schaduwspel: Ekstasis verandert het museum in een lusthof voor de zintuigen. De tentoonstelling Ekstasis. Een universum van licht en geluid is samengesteld door kunsthistoricus en curator Sanneke Huisman en hedendaags kunstenaar Nick Verstand, en laat werk zien van onder meer Heleen Blanken, Casimir Geelhoed, Mariska de Groot, Nazif Lopulissa, Jan van Munster, Anni Nöps, Jan Schoonhoven en Nick Verstand. Licht en geluid Licht en geluid spelen een belangrijke rol in de werken en installaties die gastcuratoren Sanneke Huisman en Nick Verstand selecteerden voor Ekstasis. De ervaringskunst die ontstaat met deze ontastbare ‘materialen’, roept in een oogwenk nieuwe beelden en werelden op. In de nieuwe geluidsinstallatie Borderlands van Casimir Geelhoed en Anni Nöps scheppen ronddolende geluiden een universum dat je alleen kunt horen. De kunstenaars gebruiken ongrijpbare materialen zoals licht en geluid, maar ook de nieuwste technieken. Ekstasis laat zien dat computers, lasers en algoritmes onderdeel zijn van het artistieke gereedschap anno nu. Het speelveld voor deze makers is allang niet meer beperkt tot de museumzaal; hun werk is ook te zien bij theaters, festivals en clubs. De tentoonstelling Ekstasis - Een universum van licht en geluid, is nog t/m 14 januari 2024 te zien in het Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.
