Annemieke Bosman praat met schrijver Simone Atangana Bekono over dichtbundel Marshmallow. In Marshmallow maken we kennis met een hond, een vrouw en een slaapkamer in 'een heel normaal appartement'. Alles komt op losse schroeven te staan in deze bundel waarin de poëzie zichzelf constant bevraagt, tegenspreekt en ondermijnt. Met gebruik van verschillende registers brengt Atangana Bekono groteske beelden, erotiek, alledaagsheden en geweld samen in de botsende herinneringen van twee stemmen die eens lieflijk samen moeten hebben geklonken, resulterend in giftige, grappige, en schrijnende poëzie. Simone Atangana Bekono (1991) debuteerde met hoe de eerste vonken zichtbaar waren (Poëziedebuutprijs aan Zee, 2018). De Volkskrant riep haar uit tot literair talent van 2020 en 2021. De roman Confrontaties haalde de shortlist van de Libris Literatuur Prijs en werd bekroond met de Hebban Debuutprijs en Anton Wachterprijs 2022.
