Het Spoor Terug: de Ramp met de Phoenix

Deze zomer zijn we voor het Spoor Terug op zoek gegaan naar bijzondere geschiedenisdocumentaires die elders zijn uitgezonden en die we zo mooi vinden dat we ze ook graag in OVT laten horen. Vandaag de laatste: Deel 1 van een prachtige serie die Joske Meerdink maakte voor Omroep Gelderland: De ramp met de Phoenix. Het is een verhaal over een grote groep Achterhoekers die in 1847 naar Amerika vertrok in de hoop op een beter leven. Tijdens de laatste kilometers van de reis vloog hun schip, de Phoenix,in brand. Een ramp in het zicht van de haven. Het schip verging in het ijskoude water en overlevenden waren er nauwelijks. Luister naar deze documentaire over een vergeten ramp.
