Het Spoor Terug: De Spanjestrijders en ik #1: cassettebandjes

Laura ontdekt tijdens een saaie coronawinter in het archief van het Internationaal Instituut voor Sociale Geschiedenis een enorme collectie cassettebandjes. Op die cassettebandjes staan de stemmen van ‘Spanjestrijders’: Nederlandse mannen en vrouwen die in de jaren dertig naar Spanje vertrokken om daar in tijdens burgeroorlog tegen het fascisme te vechten. Wie waren deze mensen? En waarom deden ze mee aan een oorlog zo ver van huis? Twee stemmen blijven het meest in Laura’s hoofd hangen: de stemmen van Jaap Gons en Jenny Schaddelee. Ze leert ze steeds beter kennen, en Jaap en Jenny laten Laura ook nadenken over haar eigen idealen. Wat doet zij eigenlijk voor de dingen waar ze in gelooft?
