Het Spoor Terug: Dr. Rat - Het korte leven van een graffiti artiest

Op 6 mei j.l. werd een gerestaureerd stukje graffiti uit 1978 van Dr. Rat onthuld. OVT maakte een portret van Dr. Rat, ofwel Ivar Vics, in 2012, dat nu wordt herhaald. Vics werd in 1960 geboren en behoorde daarmee tot de lost generation. Hij groeide op in de jaren 70: de overgangstijd van softe hippiemuziek naar rauwe punk, van wiet naar harddrugs. Vanaf de opkomst van de punk ging hij helemaal op in de nieuwe tegencultuur, met niet alleen eigen muziek, maar bijvoorbeeld ook eigen cafés in kraakpanden en eigen media. Ivar legde zich al snel toe op vormgeving en graffiti, en zijn signatuur werd Dr. Rat. In de zomer van 1981 overleed hij aan een overdosis. Samenstelling: Paul van der Gaag.
