Het Spoor Terug: Mannen met baarden, over Ernest Hemingway

Dit jaar is het 120 jaar geleden dat Ernest Hemingway werd geboren. Vandaar dat er een extra bijzondere editie van de Hemingway look-a-like contest in Florida plaatsvindt. Ieder jaar verzamelen 150 mannen zich in het zuidelijkste puntje van Florida om te strijden om de titel van best lijkende Hemingway. Laura Stek ging eerder naar Key West om te zien hoe de deelnemers zich met de schrijver identificeren, welk beeld ze van Hemingway hebben en hoe dat beeld gecreëerd is. Want Hemingway, zo blijkt uit de documentaire ‘mannen met baarden’, was niet alleen een groot schrijver, maar ook een groot mediawonder.
