En voor Nederland, waar socialisme en feminisme oude verhoudingen deden wankelen. Aan Berkenbosch gingen deze maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen grotendeels voorbij. Toch werden zelfs bij de brave Christelijke Vrouwen Bond de eerste scheurtjes in het patriarchaat zichtbaar. En voor Maartje’s overgrootmoeder bood het weduwschap ook vrijheid. In hoeverre genoot Mina daarvan mee?
