Ies en Dick Zwaaf, kinderen van een Joods zuurgeslacht; de laatste zuurfabrikant van Amsterdam Oos Kesbeke met zijn zoon Camiel; en de auteurs van De zure stad vertellen Christianne Alvarado over de geschiedenis van Amsterdam door de ogen van een augurk.
