I have been quite sick for a while now, which also caused me to lose my voice. As a result, I have been inactive on Hive for a little over a month now. I'm doing much better now and it is my absolute pleasure to finally get to do what I love doing the most–perform music for an audience, however small or large. For this entry, I am going to be performing a song that I have listened to repeatedly recently. BRUISES BY LEWIS CAPALDI. I also recently went through a romantic heartbreak in the past month, so this song is one that really hits close to home right now. Bruises was initially released in 2017 as a single , before being rereleased in the same year as a track on his debut album after signing on to a record label. There are so many things to love about this song. For me, it is firstly the lyrics. The very first line in the song being Counting days, counting days since my love up and got lost on me is just so freaking great and heartbreaking. I think it is an absolutely wonderful way to start a heartbreak song for real. Another great thing is just the laid-back, chill instrumental backing of the song. Oh Lord, the harmonies at the bridge always get me. If you have never seen the music video of this song, you absolutely should. Lewis Capaldi has performed this song at multiple live shows since its release, and it has become one of his most popular songs, probably the most popular one of his songs. Lewis Capaldi was recently diagnosed of Tourette's syndrome, which makes him have tics during some of his live performances staccato-ish.
