Hoe bescherm je de rechtsstaat… ook tegen zichzelf? (live vanaf InScience festival)

Hoe voorkom je dat de overheid via wetgeving, veiligheidsdiensten of politieke druk steeds verder opschuift richting autocratische verhoudingen? In deze tweede aflevering bouwen we voort op ons gesprek met Rowin Jansen tijdens het InScience Festival (https://www.insciencefestival.nl/nl/) in Nijmegen. Waar het in het eerste deel ging over wat geheime diensten doen en hoe je ze controleert, zoomen we nu in op het bredere plaatje: de democratische rechtsstaat. Wanneer wordt waakzaamheid écht noodzakelijk? En wat betekenen actuele ontwikkelingen in Nederland, Europa en vooral de Verenigde Staten voor onze eigen veiligheid?
