Si Charles Dickens es el hombre que inventó la Navidad, Tim Burton es el hombre que inventó buena parte del Halloween actual, o al menos desde hace más de 30 años, cuando se estrenó su producción (porque no la dirigió, la guionizó y la produjo pero el director es Henry Sellick) “Pesadilla antes de Navidad”. Pero esa película no era el comienzo sino la cristalización de un proceso que empezó más de 20 años antes, con sus primeros cortos en 1971. Trabajos como "Vincent" o "Frankenweenie", ya en su etapa inicial en Disney, permiten comprobar el particular mundo de Burton, gran amante de los clásicos del terror y con una particular mezcla de ternura y terror, con una estética muy reconocible a base de grandes espirales y lunas gigantescas en un horizonte, en el que se recortan tumbas y árboles de ramas retorcidas. Pura herencia del expresionismo alemán.Hoy repasaremos parte de la carrera cinematográfica de Burton, la más cercana al mundo del terror, por aquello de estar en Halloween, por lo que sonará durante todo el programa música de Danny Elfman procedente de la banda sonora de la citada "Pesadilla antes de Navidad". Pero también sonarán otras voces, como la de Rafael Navarro, que nos hablará de "F/X, efectos mortales", y la de Torres Remírez, que nos hablará de "Morbo", todo ello antes de nuestra sección de noticias de cine y series.
