HONSON TRAN, Rutgers BS, ’20, @AI Machine Learning, Comp Science, R&D Dec 2 2020 Honson graduated as a computer scientist from Rutgers this past May 2020. At an early age, Honson has been around tech for as long as he can remember. This passion ultimately led him into starting his own computer and electronics repair business in middle school, and transitioning to studying computer science at Rutgers. The path for Honson was not always straight forward. Given that there was so much to learn in technology, the biggest struggle he faced was figuring out what to studying in the field of computer science. After several trips to conferences and some soul searching through a gap year, Honson decided to enter into the world of artificial intelligence and computer vision. He was able to secure R&D positions at BMW, Weill Cornell Medicine, Rutgers and Etsy. Honson is currently working on the R&D team with Latent AI, located in Princeton. For future goals, Honson plans to eventually go for his PhD, and to also get more involved with government policy for AI. On the side, Honson loves to teach and mentor others to encourage curiosity and self-learning.
