The Lost Sheep The Plentiful Harvest The Lord of the Harvest   Reflection Questions START: Review the storyline by reading through Matthew 9:35-38, and take a moment to skim back through Matthew 8-9 to remind yourselves of the string of healings and miracles leading up to this summary statement.   Share something you’ve learned or grown in from the Daily Prayer series or from the Daily Prayer guide.  Jesus describes the crowds as "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." What's an example, from the news, your neighborhood, or your own life, of people who seem to fit that picture today? The sermon walked through the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son as pictures of Jesus's compassion, one that acts, and one that moves first. Which of those two stories do you relate to more, and why? Jesus tells the disciples the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, and his very first instruction is to pray about it, not to strategize. Why do you think he starts there instead of somewhere else? As a group, is there one specific need, in our church or in this community, that we could commit to praying for together this week?
