New Life LIVE - New Life LIVE: August 17, 2026
Caller Questions & Discussion: How can you reduce your “buts”? Marc explains why but can feel like a dismissal or subtraction in conversation, while and can feel like an addition. Learn how pausing before you say but can help you communicate in a way that makes others feel valued and heard. I really want to get healed from people-pleasing. My mom used to tell me not to make enemies. I have a friend who made a racist comment that I want to walk away from but don’t know how. How do I get over it? My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was pregnant. The doctor took a cyst off and put 178 staples in her, and she carried our daughter full-term. This is why someone shouldn’t have an abortion. How would I know if I need to find a different church? I have romantic feelings for my pastor, who is divorced. I find myself interacting with him every weekend and don’t know how to avoid crossing boundaries. My ex-wife called the police because I spanked my son three years ago. What’s my next step? I live in Canada. My ex-wife called the police again, and now I can’t see my 11-year-old son and have to go to court.

Townhall Review | Conservative Commentary On Today... - Carol Platt Liebau: What the WNBA Is Lacking
A furor erupted in the WNBA recently, after Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham called it “common sense” to ban transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports. The league’s collective bargaining agreement says that only women are eligible to play in the WNBA—but never defines what a “woman” is. The commissioner calls the issue “nuanced,” while the players association calls for diversity and inclusion. Now they’re being taken at their word. Two former NBA players say they’ll declare for the 2027 WNBA draft—exposing the absurdity of rules that refuse to acknowledge biological reality. The WNBA has brought all this on itself. It’s time to define “woman” — or risk sidelining female athletes in the league created specifically for them. There’s nothing “nuanced” about protecting women’s sports. It requires only courage, clarity, and plain common sense.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

VOMRadio - GLOBAL ACTION: Raising up Pastors to Shepherd their Flocks
Rich Griffith, Chief Development Officer for Global Action, served as a pastor and played seven seasons in the NFL before the Lord led him to serve pastors and Christian leaders around the world, including many in restricted nations and hostile areas. Rich has had many exciting career highlights, but his favorite is watching these Christian leaders complete their training. "To me, the most incredible thing I've experienced is a graduation." Rich says, "The tears in their eyes… because they felt a calling of God." Rich shares his joy at being able to provide tools and knowledge to new pastors in places like India and Cuba and will share more about the curriculum and how the training is tailored to impact each individual culture. The church in these nations is growing, but there is a great need for more pastors to shepherd that growing flock. You'll also hear how Rich sensed God's call to work for Global Action and how the Lord challenged him on a trip to Cuba, where he saw how persecuted Christians trust the Lord despite their circumstances. One book that God used to challenge Rich was I Am N, a book about persecuted Christians facing Islamic extremists that was produced by The Voice of the Martyrs. Pray for the Lord to raise up more shepherds who will lead Christ's sheep, especially in restricted nations and hostile areas. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria, China, and Iran, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content, and feature films. Download the VOM App for your iOS or Android device today.

Leading The Way Radio Podcast - Worship the Lord Alone
Satan’s goal has always been worship. In this powerful final message, Dr. Michael Youssef reveals how the devil offered Jesus instant power without the Cross—exposing his hatred of God’s redemptive plan. But Jesus did not bow. He refused the shortcut, rejected instant gratification, and stood firm on the authoritative Word of God. The sinless Son of God answered, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” Through obedience, suffering, and the Cross, Christ secured the victory Satan tried to steal. This episode calls believers to: Repent of idolatry and divided loyalty, Reject every counterfeit promise, Refuse to bow to any rival king, Intercede for their families, Take authority in the Name of Jesus Christ, Worship and serve God alone. Because Christ triumphed, His people do not have to live enslaved to fear, temptation, or false promises. We belong to the King—and He alone is worthy of worship. Scripture Focus: Matthew 4 If today’s teaching stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don’t have to walk through it alone. Townhall Review | Conservative Commentary On Today... - Carol Platt Liebau: Corruption Exposed at Cambridge
Americans already suspect that higher education is a politicized grift. And Jason Arday’s story won’t convince them otherwise. Arday was celebrated as the youngest black person ever appointed to a professorship at Cambridge — despite a history of fabulism that defies belief. He’s claimed to have been nonverbal until age 11; unable to read until 18; to have run 600 miles in 65 days; raised more than $7 million for charity; survived a coma; and beaten cancer. Neither Cambridge nor Simon & Schuster, publisher of his autobiography, apparently thought to verify his claims. He’s resigned after a plagiarism scandal and a pending investigation about his academic qualifications and honorary appointments. Here’s the lesson: Rather than making academia more inclusive and equitable, DEI has exposed just how corrupt the whole enterprise has become.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Our Daily Bread Podcast | Our Daily Bread - One Worthy of Worship
One April afternoon, millions gathered along a mapped arc across Mexico and the United States to witness a rare total solar eclipse. Schools released children, small towns blossomed to receive travelers, neighbors set up lawn chairs in driveways donning protective glasses to take in the wonder. As television crews documented the countdown to “totality,” the crowd grew silent except for one repeated phrase: “Oh my God!” That struck me. I don’t know for certain why those observers chose that phrase in that moment, but I suspect that as mortals encountered the rare and the astonishing, they seemed to need Someone to acknowledge. Someone to thank. Someone to worship. When we look heavenward, our response is awe. As David wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). Luke, the historian, reports Jesus’ last minutes on the cross. “It was about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining” (23:44-45). Matthew shares a response to this revelation. “When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, ‘Surely he was the Son of God!’ ” (Matthew 27:54). They couldn’t help but acknowledge God as the Someone worthy of worship. In humble awe, I worship You—my God.

New Life LIVE - New Life LIVE: August 13, 2026
Caller Questions & Discussion: Dr. Sheri discusses how she likes to “noodle” after a conversation by trying to figure out what happened. She shares that we often push down our feelings, but we must give feelings space to be included in the room. I heard a show last week about a man whose sister-in-law had gone through treatment for alcoholism, but his wife was still angry. Having been affected by alcoholism, I wondered why you didn’t mention that his wife may also need support from a counselor. My husband has separated from me and leased an apartment. He says he made impulsive mistakes in the past and doesn’t want to reconcile. My kids won’t talk to him. What do I do now? My 64-year-old brother has a history of estrangement from our family. I’m the executor of the trust my parents set up for him. He’s my last living relative. Do I keep reaching out? Your opening meant a lot to me. I have a close friend who is an emotional avoider, while I’m a vacillator. How do I approach a highly emotional conversation with someone who doesn’t place much value on emotions?

First Person with Wayne Shepherd - Rob Elliot
Wayne Shepherd talks with 93-year-old Rob Elliott, founder of Elliott Construction in the Chicago area about his life’s purpose of representing God in business and supporting missionaries. (click for more…) Website: https://www.elliotconstruction.comRob shares his life story: being born in England to a Canadian father and English mother, growing up in a Christian home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and giving his life to Christ as a boy, though it didn't feel "real" until a devastating 1951 car accident that killed a friend and left him in a coma — an event he credits with truly turning his heart toward God and keeping him out of military service in Korea. He recounts starting his concrete business in the early 1950s after a mentor set him up with clients, building it into one of the largest concrete contractors in the Chicago area (still family-run 70+ years later), and using his business as a platform for quiet, consistent Christian witness — praying before meals with coworkers, sharing his testimony at industry events, and mentoring golfing buddies over the years. He closes by reflecting on his large family (5 children, 34 grandchildren, and dozens of great-grandchildren), his enduring faith rooted in Romans 10:9, and his sense that God still has purpose for his life at 93.
