Horsham firefighter fired after using racial slur over radio, officials say

In Montgomery County, a Horsham Fire Company employee was fired Tuesday after officials say he used a racial slur during emergency radio transmissions. In a statement issued Wednesday, officials from Horsham Fire Company No. 1 say while at an incident on County Line Road about 4 p.m. Tuesday, the employee used a racial slur which was broadcast over county radio communications. The employee, who is a firefighter and EMT, was not named. Fire officials say the employee was fired as soon as they returned to the station Tuesday night.
