Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty. We've been trying to figure out how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty on demand for many years. I'm going to give it a shot. So most media is either agenda driven or they're so shallow. And boring. Don't learn anything anyway. Boom, shakalaka. It's our number one, hour one of the Ben Maller Show and a zippity-doo-dah, zippity-day. As the NFL Week 8 card began last night, we stayed up all night to provide fresh pod. Reminder, the fifth hour podcast will return today. We'll tell you what's coming up here in hour one. Fifth hour podcast, though, we celebrate a legend, a member of the Maller, well, not a Maller militia guy, but he is a Fox Sports Radio alumni guy.

And one of the great characters in the history of sports who also happened to work at Fox Sports Radio back in the day. And just a bunch of fun memories and great names and whatnot. So check out the Fifth Hour podcast today. A very special episode all about Dale. All about Dale. But here in our number one, a little Thursday night football, Carolina at Green Bay. Game was a blowout for a while. Carolina got back in the game but lost anyway. Is Panthers quarterback Bryce Young getting unfairly ripped for his play against Green Bay? Or is the criticism fair game?

Also, thumbs up or thumbs down. Are Jordan Love's Packers looking like a legitimate Super Bowl contender as they get another win? Have a solid record, the Green Bay Packers, but are they legit? And what is your word for wide receiver Christian Watson returning to Lambeau Field? He left to go to the hospital in an ambulance. He was coughing up blood. He came back, I guess, in an ambulance, and he played for the Green Bay Packers again in that game. What is your word for that? We'll get to all of this. Don't forget, fifth hour podcast as well. And here it is, hour number one.

You got that pack mentality, I guess. Welcome in the beginning of another night of the Ben Maller Show. We are in the air everywhere. Right on your doorstep to the power of audio as we pour fuel on the fire. We do. Coast to coast, border to border and beyond, on the vast and uproariously powerful microphones of FSR emanating live from the lantern, the jack-o'-lantern of sports chatter, guaranteed human, on the world-famous Fox Sports Radio Studios. Now, it's Halloween weekend.

And so we've actually got our Ouija board out. We've made contact with many members of the Malin Militia on the other side. So the Boston hater and Jeannie in Medford really want to know about Fox 1. I don't know if this works across the pearly gates. I'm not sure. But there's nothing like live. This fall, every NFL on Fox game streams live on Fox 1 every Sunday. Every rivalry. Miss it live and you're just watching a highlight. Catch every play as it happens. The NFL on Fox streaming.

on Fox 1 and reached out to Jimmy Ray from Tampa Bay and my Ouija board there and the great Rachel from Montebello. And they said, Mallard, you've got to let the people know about Express. I said, well, if you ask, I will let them know about Express. Workforce Challenges, slowing down your business. As we roll on and on and on. Hope you're doing all right. You survived another day and we're back at it in the audio sweatshop that does not stop the talk. And I'll leave this hour from the frozen tundra. Not quite frozen yet. Week eight in the NFL kicked off with a Thursday night matchup. This was a ho-hum matchup. This doesn't get you all horny. You had Bryce Young and the Panthers traveling clown car that headed to Wisconsin.

To Lambeau Field for a play date with Jordan Love and the Packers. The usual suspects were there. Al Michaels and Chris, what was it? Kirk Herbstreet was there. Chris who? I don't know. Kirk Herbstreet. Oh, the dog. Peter the dog was there, right? And all those other ex-jocks that just laugh and are really just a reason to have the mute button on that pre- and post-game show. My God, do they suck over there on Amazon. So I don't know if you're watching or not. Maybe not.

Don't worry, we watch so you would not have to. It is our good mitzvah of the day. So it depends on which side of the aisle you're on. Jordan Love had not one, not two, but three touchdown passes. Josh Jacobs scored a couple of touchdowns. And the Packers withstood not one, not two, but three turnovers. Normally when you turn the ball over three times, you lose. Unless you play a crap-bag team like Carolina, who did attempt a late comeback. Of course, like everything else they do, that failed. And so the Packers win by eight points. The better story, though, is in the losing locker room. Yet another El Stinko.

The team that's just a few miles away from Tobacco Road there, the old stinker here, they have been outscored now. Carolina, 70-32 through the last two games they have played. They now officially have a losing record. Oh, you're being mean, Maller! Now the one that's getting killed here is Bryce Young. Bryce Young's getting hammered, roasted for his performance, which is understandable if you watch the game. So that is a good jumping off point. Let us discuss a lot of uproar directed at the quarterback there for the team from North Carolina. So let us discuss. The question is...

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young getting unfairly ripped for his play against Green Bay, or is the criticism fair game? So I've got Elon Musk, Wreck-It Ralph, and Swiss Army Knife. And we're going to put all these together. We're going to go for an overnight joyride is what we're going to do. So, A.

Listen, I didn't need to ask you. I went to replay assist. We had an expedited review on replay assist. And it turns out the criticism of Bryce Young, fair game, fair game. Now, many bleeding hearts will say, well, Carolina's offensive line was patchwork. And it was. It was. The Panthers were getting bullrushed. They were. And Green Bay, a lot of the time, where they're only sending three people, it didn't matter because the offensive line wasn't great. Here's my argument, though. If you're truly an elite quarterback, that guy drafted number one overall in the NFL draft.

then you get it done. You get it done. Bryce Young looked completely overmatched in stretches of this game. He was gasping for breath. And the processor is the problem. Now, if it was like the late 90s and you were using AOL dial-up, that would be fine.

However, we're not using dial-up internet anymore. The Panthers needed to contact Elon Musk and see if they can hook Bryce Young up to that Starlink Wi-Fi because his Wi-Fi is slow. It's kind of like the Wi-Fi we have at work now, which blows. We just have great Wi-Fi. We had a top Wi-Fi in radio, and I don't know what happened, but our Wi-Fi sucks. It's kind of like Bryce Young's Wi-Fi sucks. His connections suck, and he continues to be an enigma. I am always fascinated by the Bryce Young truthers that are out there.

Carolina's got some decisions to make whether they want to continue going down this road and whether to pay the guy or not. We've seen a number of teams get bamboozled into paying a substandard quarterback. And there's a lot of mediocre dudes that got paid a lot of money. Look at Justin Herbert, who sucks for the Chargers. Little Kyler Murray, who's already been fired by the Cardinals. He's now in the Vikings. Tua Tungabailoa, he got paid. Everyone said he blew. He got paid anyway. It's all because of FOMO. Oh, the fear of missing out. What if this guy goes to another team and becomes good?

Who cares? He sucks for your team. Anyway, it's fascinating to see the psychology behind these quarterbacks and how you fanboys, you love your quarterbacks. My God. It's very frustrating when you're on this side of the microphone, and every time Bryce has a decent performance, it gets celebrated like it's the moon landing by the Marching and Chowder Society, and then every time he goes out and has a game like this, which he did on Thursday night, the failures get blamed on somebody else. It's never his fault. It just is not his fault. Here is Dave Canales, who...

It's not long as an NFL coach. But here's Dave Canales pointing out there are some issues with protection. Take a listen. Honestly, I just think it comes down to a protection plan deal for us because when we give Bryce time, he's shown his ability to be able to spread the ball around, distribute it, find accurate throws in traffic and all those things. And I'm confident that when we start that part up, Bryce will be back in his rhythm making his throws that he can. So the way I interpret that quote is Dave Canales just told you you can't win a championship with Bryce Young. You can't. He just announced right there. What do you mean, Maller? Well, here's what I mean. If Bryce Young is only good when he gets great protection.

You don't get great protection in playoff games. You're porked. You're screwed. It's over. Dave Canales just announced, we can't win with this guy. The only way Bryce is an effective NFL quarterback is if everything was perfect. Well, this just in, not everything's going to be perfect. Dummy. Here's Bryce Young pointing out that you might want to finish some stuff a little bit better. Take a listen. We just got to finish better. That's our calling card, and we didn't get that done today. That's not a calling card. We fought. It was very, you know, it was ugly, and defense stepped up, gave us a shot. Special teams in the same way. We have to finish. That's all it's about.

Got to finish. Oh, you finished. Like, you usually finish as a loser. So, again, I go back to the, it's never Bryce's fault, it's always somebody else's fault. It's like a helicopter mom who refuses to believe their child could do anything wrong regardless of the evidence. Like, I used to watch the Nightly News, and not many watch the Nightly News anymore, but I used to love the Nightly News. I used to watch it all the time. And somebody would get arrested for shooting up a bar, and they'd interview the guy's mom, and, oh, he would never do something like this. He was such a great son. I don't know what you're talking about. This video of him with the gun shooting up the bar. But, no, he would never do that. It's like the helicopter mom syndrome.

Anything wrong, regardless of evidence, he can't do anything wrong. You talk about a sweetheart deal. Let me ask you this. Serious question. What exactly does Bryce Young do at an elite NFL level? I'll take your answer off the air. Seriously. Name one thing. I've watched a lot of Bryce Young. He's been in the NFL a few years now. There's just no there there. There's nothing. Now, he gets graded on a curve because Carolina wasted a number one overall pick on him if Bryce Young were a fourth-round selection. Fourth-round pick.

Do you think we're even having this conversation right now that he's even still on the team? It's not a franchise quarterback. It's anywhere close. Dave Canales just told you we can't win with this guy because he only plays well when everything's perfect. The coach just told you we can't win with Bryce Young. He used a dog whistle, but that's what he said. That's what he said. He's a very expensive developmental project, and there's apparently no graduation date. He's just going to continue on and on and on. Meanwhile, to the Green Bay side of things, so the Packers get another win. They fatten up their record like a turkey before Thanksgiving. Got to fatten up the record.

They got a pretty good record. So what are they? Five and two, the Green Bay Packers. So the question, thumbs up or thumbs down? Are Jordan Love's Packers looking more like a legitimate Super Bowl contender as we are now through week eight for Green Bay? So I'm going to go after a minutes-long deliberation of the available information, which means I sat on my ass and watched the game. I'm going to go thumbs down.

I'm going thumbs down. Green Bay is another team whose reputation is considerably more impressive than an actual performance. I realize I'm talking to a lot of people that own the Green Bay Packers. I have friends of mine that are Packers owners, and I have conversations with them. So I do have some inside information because I have, in my phone, there's at least two people that own part of the Green Bay Packers. And so I've talked to these people who own the team, and they tend to agree with me. In terms of the grade for this performance by Green Bay, on the Mallard scorecard, on the Mallard scorecard, the Packers get an SM.

What is an SM? Well, SM, that's what I typed in my notes app on my iPhone when I was watching the game. I was doodling some notes down. Well, I can't really doodle one in a notes thing, but I was typing. So I wrote down SM as in sporadic malfunction. They're looking like a wagon. For a while, the Green Bay Packers looked like an absolute wagon. The wheels on the wagon go round and round. The wheels on the wagon go round and round. And then one falls off. And something goes kerflooey. And it's just like that. Jordan Love plays.

For a half or three quarters, depending on how you look at it, this game or just any game, he looks like Patrick Mahomes, like the good version of Mahomes. And then there's one quarter where it looks like he won a contest. His caller's 17 on a radio call-in line at a FM rock station and serves up a Wreck-It Ralph special. The Verp. The Verp. And that was the fourth quarter for Jordan Love. He served up a Verp. You know what Verp is, right? That's where you vomit and burp together. Ew. And you can taste it. Yeah. So they carry the Packers a Dollar General rushing attack.

They've got that. And you add on some turnovers. They had three in this game. And penalties. Not too many penalties here, but in general, there have been a lot of penalties. Nearly squandering a 17-point lead to a pretty bad Carolina team. And Matt LaFleur, the coach, the mastermind behind a team that clearly has some discipline issues. Might want to contact the Better Business Bureau. Now, it's not all bad. The defense, they don't have their favorite podcaster, Micah Parsons, who's...

Taking his time coming back. You want to rush back when you're the highest paid defensive player in football. Why would you do that? The Packers defense has held five straight opponents to under 20 points. But still, there's a lot of indicators, the key indicators that say there's fraud. This is just kind of like a Steeler team of recent years where they're good enough to make the playoffs, but they're not really a real threat to do anything in the playoffs. Now to the subplot. Now to the subplot. And we go.

To the injury room. Yeah, the injury room. A lot going on here. If you're watching the game, you know exactly where I'm going with this. It was wild and zany and crazy. Christian Watson, a former guest on the Fifth Hour podcast, by the way, had him at Radio Row a couple years back. But Green Bay wide receiver Christian Watkins suffering a chest injury during the game. And this was a big storyline. Within the game, Watson was injured. He took a deep pass from Jordan Love in the second quarter, landed hard on the Duke, the football, as he was being tackled by a defensive back for Carolina. Watson revealed after the game he was coughing up blood.

Like a vampire coughing up blood. Perfect for Halloween. And he had some issues breathing. And that led to the Packers, out of an abundance of caution, the medical staff put him in an ambulance with cherry tops on the way to the hospital. They had a CT scan.

But how great is it if you're an NFL player? My God, you go right there. Anyway, they had a CT scan, revealed a fractured rib. However, the doctor said, you know what? There's no internal bleeding here. You're cleared to go back and play. So Watson returned to Lambeau Field, as Al Michaels said, in an ambulance during the third quarter, jogging out of the tunnel like a professional wrestler to a thunderous ovation. And despite the fractured rib, Watson did return late in the third quarter, finished with eight receptions, 113 yards, had a crucial late third down conversion if you're watching the game.

You know what I'm talking about. So the Packers, of course, and the NFL being ripped for allowing this to happen. How can you allow this to happen? What's wrong with you? Oh, my God. All right, so the question, what is your word? What is your word for Christian Watson returning to Lambeau Field in an ambulance and playing the end of the game, playing the end of the game for the Packers? So my word is Scorsese, as in Martin Scorsese, the Hollywood legend. You know that meme with his hands raised caption, absolute cinema? That's what this was.

Now, if you're old, you might remember in wrestling, it's actually become a meme, so I guess you don't have to be old, but was it Kevin Nash? Remember the famous scene? That was at WCW years ago, 25 years ago. He had a broken leg, and it turned out he didn't have a broken leg, and he used the old fake leg in a cast trick and ended up getting back in the ring. It was really hilarious how they did that. It was similar here. This guy goes from coughing up a nice big chunk of blood, coughing up his guts, goes to the hospital and comes back. Now, I've heard of Farm to Table. I've heard of Farm to Table. This is a new product, Hospital to Huddle. It's a spin-off of Farm to Table. Very organic.

I don't know about you, but when I've had to go to the hospital and get checked out, I'm there for eight hours. If you're an NFL player, you're there for 10 minutes. Imagine how many other people must have been in the waiting room with that. Well, it's Green Bay. I don't know how many people were there. But the hospital is like, all right, you're in line. Wait a minute. It's going to be an extra half hour or an hour because Christian Watson is coming in from Lambeau. So I'm sorry. I know you're dying, but this guy plays football. So it's much more important. Please, come on. They're coughing up blood, fractured rib, round trip ambulance ride.

back on the field. How much is that going to cost the Packers? Seriously, I know a hospital, an ambulance ride to the hospitals, isn't that like $10,000 or something like that? They charge your insurance? So is that a $20,000 ride to the hospital for Christian Watson? They should have taken Uber back. Would have saved some money. But that is the stuff of legend. And yet, the outrage industrial complex hyperventilating. The critics are acting like Matt LeFleur himself performed meatball surgery at midfield with a Swiss Army knife in front of all the people at Lambeau Field. Spare me. Listen, the way I look at this, Watson was cleared by actual doctors at a hospital.

Not the team doctors at a hospital. These are people who plausibly took the Hippocratic Oath. Not keyboard physicians and the algorithm and the bot farms in Moldova. Okay, not the people with WebMD degrees in the age of load management where athletes need three business days to recover from a hangnail. Heck, look at Micah Parsons. They said he'd be back in week four, week five. It's now going to be at least week nine. He's not in any rush to come back. But there's Watson displaying some old-fashioned intestinal fortitude.

And, of course, the Internet world. Oh, my God, it's an abundance of caution. It's not safe enough. It's not safe enough. Football, as long as they play, eventually it'll become flag football. But for now, it's a collision sport. It is not a wellness retreat with complimentary lavender-infused herbal tea. That's not what this is. So I say bravo, and it's the thing that you can celebrate. They used to make highlight reels of the toughest players in the NFL. That would be a very short reel these days. That would be a very, very short reel. It is the Ben Maller Show. The Ben Maller Show as we continue on through the overnight.

And we do have later on, next hour, we'll, you know the deal, it's our usual Friday show. So next hour, no calls. It's all Benny versus the Penny, breaking down all the big games. We handpicked the eight most important games in the NFL. We'll handicap the games, tell you what should happen in those games. I'll challenge myself head-to-head against the Penny. So we'll be doing that coming up in Hour 2. But in the meantime, we've got calls this hour, and then again in Hour 3 and Hour 4, we'll have some of your phone calls as well. 877-99 on Fox. 877-996-6369. Also available on the X Machine at Ben Maller.

That's at Ben Maller. If you'd like to be part of the program, you can join the talk festivus as we are just beginning the celebration of the overnight. So we've got your phone calls, the whole thing, and your comments as well. And later on, in hour three, we'll have the riddle of the day. Also, Big Ben's lame jokes of the week. Big Ben's lame jokes of the week. That'll be coming up in hour number three. So we have a nominee for the most obtuse player in the NFL. Who do you think the most obtuse player?

in the NFL is. We have a nominee. We will reveal the nominee. We'll get to that and we will do it next. Be sure to catch live editions of the Ben Maller Show weekdays at 2 a.m. Eastern, 11 p.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Welcome to Football Doesn't Lie. Hi, I'm Bill Parcells. And I'm Catherine Zatzora. I have a lot of experience in the game of football, Catherine. And I'm learning the game with Bill's help. Every week, we're going to talk about the NFL slate through the lens of Bill's expertise as he coaches me from novice fan to football expert over the course of the season. You know, I'm looking forward to this show, Catherine, and hopefully we can give our audience a little in-depth look into the inner sanctum of pro football that they can't get anywhere else. Tune in every Thursday for unfiltered stories from Coach Parcells, analysis on the state of the modern game, and education on how football really works. Continuity is very important, but what happens...

When you get good coaches on your staff and people begin to recognize them, then they want to hire them. And then you can't stop a guy from trying to improve himself, but you have to replace them. Because once you understand what's going on inside the mind of the coaches, you'll understand more about the whole game. So all aspects can be discussed. The only thing I haven't done, because I didn't have enough money, I don't own the team. I never owned a team. Listen to Football Doesn't Lie on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

If there's a million times more digital intelligence than there is biological intelligence, it's hard to imagine humans being in control in that scenario. I'm Walter Isaacson, host of the new podcast, The Builders. Right now, living through an AI arms race. So I went directly to the people shaping that future. Elon Musk, Dario Hominay, Alex Carr, Feifei Lee, Palmer Luckey. Because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe, what they fear, and where they think this is all headed. Silicon Valley is always saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create it. Well, yeah, it's up to us. But when you say us, who's us? Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans? They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is, whose imagination do we want to live in?

This is going to determine the fate of nations and economies and the future of humanity. Listen to The Builders on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty. We're Armstrong and Getty. We've been trying to figure out how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty on demand for many years. I'm going to give it a shot. So most media is either agenda-driven. Do they intentionally leave parts out or they lie to you? Or they're so shallow. And boring. You don't learn anything anyway. We try to get to the bottom of the stories that are shaping our world and help you understand what's actually happening. The Armstrong and Getty Show, practically perfect in every way. Yeah, I really like your guys' show. I've been listening for over 10 years. I'll always be an avid listener and better informed for it. The show is a collection of silly, serious, and irreverent musings of the day. Hilariously balanced with more than just a pinch of sarcasm. Whether it's on the left or the right, if somebody does something or something.

It's Dramos, and I want you to meet the disruptors who are setting today's trends and discover those who are building what's next. People like Sebastian Yatra. Life is on the other side of fear. Introducing Global Flow, a new podcast where I sit down with disruptors across music, entertainment, business, and tech to break down what they're building, get the blueprint to how they got there, all while trying to figure out what's coming next. They'll share their stories, including not just the wins that we all see, but the moment.

they had to persevere through when everyone counted them out. People like the co-founder of Buddy's Coffee, Rachel, who quickly went from being a New York Times success story to facing eviction. Being deemed a successful business by a New York Times as a Puerto Rican girl from New York who didn't finish college. I was like, holy crap, I'm finally doing something. Maybe this is all working out. And then that day when the landlord comes in, it's like he did all over that idea and he stepped on me. Listen to Global Flow as a part of the Michael Kura Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Ben Maller Show!

On Fox Sports Radio, we thank you for hanging out with us, being part of the show, being a member of the Mallard Militia, supporting our little overnight show. Those daytime people have no idea what we do at night, and we like it that way. It's our fun zone. And they're not welcome. Now, they can listen to the podcast, but it's different when you listen live. It's a whole different mojo, a whole different vibe. The Penny vs. the Penny coming up next hour. It is also a Friday show, which means new episodes of the Fifth Hour podcast will pop up all weekend long. Yeah, how about that? Pretty crazy. We'll have fresh pod in addition to this, so the audio sweatshop does not stop. In the meantime, on the live show this hour, talking about that Thursday night game, the Packers and the Panthers. Bryce Young looking like a stiff.

As Dave Canales admitted, they can't win with their quarterback. Pretty shocking admission by Dave Canales. I'm sure that everyone in the media will ignore it because they don't understand the truth, but he just laid it all out. Anyway, 877-99 on Fox on X at Ben Maller. Say hello to Lorena. She's the FSR Tech Queen. There she is right there. I tried to say hi earlier, but my programming was off. I think Alex was recording himself. Oh, really? What would he be recording? I don't know. He does all sorts of stuff. Really? A little side hustle? Yeah. I should do that. That's a good idea. A side hustle? Yeah. Listen, Lorena, FSR Tech Queen.

And Koopaloop, at a Bronco fan, that's a Bronco fan, your comments can and will be used against you in the court of the Mallard Militia, so please act accordingly. All right, back to it we go, and the Mallard Militia with a lot said, we'll get the X run down. I'm very busy putting Benny versus the Penny still together and some other things, so I'll get to the X run down when I have some time. I do not have time right now, so at some point it'll be up, but it's a surprise. You've got to keep listening to find out what we're going to be talking about. That's the magic. That's old school.

That's old school. Stevie Meatballs writes in. It's good to hear from him. Where have you been, Stevie Meatballs? You cheating on us? You schmuck? How dare you? Anyway, Stevie Meatballs says, Cracked ribs, not just for her pleasure. We all got a kick out of that. That's going to hurt in the morning. All right, that's Stevie Meatballs right there. And weren't we supposed to do a bit with you, Stevie Meatballs? Weren't we planning on doing a bit? And then I guess we forgot about it. There you go. Man.

All right. Anthony in Anaheim, who is retired, he sold out. He was a celebrity caller, and he gave up the paparazzi and the lifestyle, the groupies. Years ago, he says, hey, you sound better than ever, Ben. That in the air everywhere was outstanding. Well, thank you, Anthony. It's good to know an old-timer like you appreciates my work and isn't just a low-level troll. I'm glad that you're still a fan after all these years, Anthony, and you haven't become an a-hole. It's really nice. Hoosier Bill writes in, says Ben Obtuse, Mike McDaniel of the Chargers, which is paradoxical.

Plus, he's a nerd. He's a nerd. There you go. Ernie says the classic move by Kevin Nash. Yeah, that was an all-time great one. No question about it. Late night drug tester writes in and says, unlike the Brewers in Game 3, the Packers know how to keep an audience watching on TV. Take a big lead. Let the Panthers slowly creep back. Al Michaels and Herbie should have been happy with the results. These guys love, the broadcasters love to pump up the team losing.

Once you hear that, you can't hear it. Once somebody says, hey, when you watch a game, pay attention if one team takes like a two-score lead, how much the other team, the team trailing, gets talked about. They all go to the same clown college to become broadcasters, and they learn, well, here's the trick. They seem to think that just by saying the other team is going to come back to win most of the time, it does not work. And then every once in a while.

A team does come back, and something crazy happens, and it's, oh, man, look at the comeback. And it's kind of like my look at, like, four-team parlays or five-team parlays. It's usually a sucker bet, right? Parlay's a sucker bet. And every once in a while, someone will hit a parlay, and they love, the books love to promote the parlays when people hit because it's the ultimate sucker play. They're going to make their money more times than not. So they love when you bet parlays. They want you to bet parlays. They want you to think that teams are going to come back when they're down by a lot, and normally that does not happen. Michael in Tulsa writes in.

He says, Ben, you should have used the penny I sent you for Benny versus the penny. I know. We've got to work on that for the Green Bay Carolina game. Does Gunner have any thoughts about his Panthers? I thought not. On Wisconsin, farm to table is much more expensive than ambulance to stadium. Well, sure. Well, why not? Why not? I'm sure. Let me look here. I mean, I'm almost positive that if you look here, Gunner's got to be online, right? Let me look. Page.

Page down. No. How could Gunner not be my first call? Huh, I wonder where he'd be. I mean, there's no way he would be a frontrunner and a coward and a loser, right? There's no way Gunner would be all those things. I mean, sure, Gunner would be the... I don't see him on my board. I don't... Page down. Page down. I do not see him. Hundreds of callers. No Gunner. I know. It's very odd. He always seems to get in when the Panthers do something interesting, when they win, but this is very rare. It's odd. Maybe his phone stopped working. That could be. His phone stopped working. Let's go to... Let's go to...

What do we have here? How about Anthony in Louisiana? I haven't talked to him in a couple days. Hello, Anthony in Louisiana. Welcome. Hey, Ben. How you doing? Anthony, if I was any better, I'd be a Young. But not Bryce Young, because it's not good. Yeah. Hey, where are you watching the big NFL games this weekend there, Anthony?

Oh, we got five videos. Oh, yeah. What I recommend, Anthony, I'm trying to lead you into a spot here. It's Fox 1. You ever heard about Fox 1? Yeah. Oh, yeah, good. You're listening. There's nothing like live. This fall, every NFL on Fox game streams live on Fox 1. Every Sunday, every rivalry, miss it live, and you're just watching a highlight catch. Every play as it happens. NFL on Fox streaming on Fox 1. Isn't that a great read, Anthony? Didn't I just nail that read right there? Hey, coach.

What up, though? Happy birthday. Thank you. Yeah, you didn't call me on my birthday. You tell me how special I am, but you don't do that. I'm offended. I'm offended. Oh, no. Thank you. I'm opening a gift box right now from another listener, and this might be an odd snack. I don't know if I'm going to eat this one. Do you want to know what it is? Is it kangaroo? No. It's a product of Japan.

Oh, they ate some weird stuff in Japan for an American palate. It's a dried fish snack mix. Oh, nice. She's good. Why don't you give that to your daughter, then? You know what? She might eat it as a gag or something like that. Oh, Ben, you would probably vomit if you saw this snack. Well, they had, in Mexico, they were serving grasshoppers. Yeah, that's what I thought it was at first from the side. I was like, are these a grasshopper snack? In Mexico City, we went to this bar, they had mixed nuts with grasshoppers. That's an interesting snack. You ever eaten grasshoppers, Anthony, in Louisiana? No. No? What'd you eat?

Have you ever had alligator? Have you had gator? You've not. But you live in a place where there are gators. Why have you not had gator? Yeah, I like catfish. Oh, catfish. Oh, see, that was almost a drop. I talked over it. Say that again. I like catfish. There you go. There you go. That's perfect, Lorraine. We're going to have a whole big board of Anthony drops. Honestly, by the time, yeah, his board's going to look like Marcel's here very soon. Good night, Lorraine. Good night, John. Oh, thank you. Thank you.

Let me see here. Ben, you're going to have to eat one of these fishes. I want it on camera. The only fish I eat are those gummy fish. Swedish fish? Oh, my God. Who sent that? Who sent that? How disgusting does that look? Wow, that is. People eat that? Really? Like the people of Japan think that's delicious? Yeah. They cover it in sugar or something? I don't think so. It just says ready to eat. Calcium and protein. 17 grams of protein. Wow. Okay. I'm sure there's some sort of seasoning. Oh, do you guys want to hear the fish that are in it?

Okay, on the back. I can see the fish head right in front there. It says it's mixed with sardines, silver-stripe brown herring, mackerel, and shrimps. Looks like a little goldfish. It says the mouth-watering flavor of this snack will make you want more in no time at all. Okay, go for it. Okay. No way does it say that. That's disgusting. Oh, man. That is, uh, wow. How much do you think that caught? That must have been expensive. To ship and, no? I don't know.

All right. Wow. On that note, let's say hello to the other Anthony. It's Anthony and Anthony. We'll go to Anthony in Anaheim. Hello, Anthony. Welcome. You have to go to me right as I'm ordering through Jack in the Box, right? You're such a fat ass. Well, I learned from you as a professional. Yeah, hi. Can I get a number one with curly fries and a Coke?

Regular is fine. What is it, number one? What is that, a Jumbo Jack or something? Oh, it's so good. Thank you. Why didn't you get it upsized? You didn't get it. Why didn't you get it upsized? You should have got the upsized. I'm not bad. I'm not bad. Dude, you're eating. You're in L.A. It's almost midnight, dude. You're eating a Jumbo Jack. I have five kids. You know that. I work. Well, I tried to warn you. You have five of them now? He's trying to repopulate the Western world. I'm trying to get my vasectomy in like a month.

A little late on that, my man. Well, what do you mean a little late? I could pop out one like every month if I wanted to. Every month? Oh, look at this guy, Mr. Stud over here. Yeah. Mr. Big Stud over here. I could charge like $100,000 if he wanted a boy. I'm sure the women are lining up for that. I can't imagine. Well, I couldn't get the clientele. I'm just saying I could charge that. Yeah. Well, you can charge anything you want. How much is it? Let's try to guess. How much is a number one combo at Jack in the Box?

All right. All right. I've not been to Jack in the Box in a long time. I know fast food is very expensive. Lie. I've not been to Jack. I swear I have not. The only fast food I really eat is like Raising Cane's. That's about it. Does he have stains on his shirt? All right. I'm going to say that combo meal costs you $10. $10. Lorena? $14.79. Cool.

1557. All right. Anthony, reveal answers. 1273. I win. I didn't go over. I win the showcase showdown. I win. What do I win? What do I win, Anthony? What do I win? I can get you a jumbo jack if you want. No, no, I'm good on that. I don't need to. Dip your curly fries in honey mustard.

Hey, I'm up against the clock here. I heard you're always up against the clock. I'm by the clock, for the clock, and all about the clock. I heard you're a big fan of that clock. I love the clock. I can't wait for it. My favorite part, I talk to him all the time. He's not doing anything really these days, but he's great. He's got some stuff going on, but nothing. He's doing commercials and things like that. Anyway, all right, thank you. Go away. There's Anthony. That was a waste of our time ordering food at the drive-thru at the Jack in the Box in Anaheim. There you go. Living his best life. It is the Bain Maller Show. Time now for the...

I'm Walter Isaacson, host of the new podcast, The Builders. Right now, we're living through an AI arms race. So I went directly to the people shaping that future. Elon Musk, Dario Amade, Alex Carr, Feifei Lee, Palmer Luckey. Because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe. What they fear.

and where they think this is all headed. So most media is either agenda driven. They intentionally lead parts out or they lie to you. Or they're so shallow. And boring. You don't learn anything anyway. We try to get to the bottom of the stories that are shaping our worlds and help you understand what's actually happening.

Who am I game? You guys on hold. We'll call back later. We'll get to you. We don't have any time at this point for any more phone calls this hour. But here is the who am I game since 2020. I'm the NFL quarterback with the worst record against the spread against the NFC West going one in 10 and failing to cover by an average of seven points per.

game, 7.2 points per game. Who am I? That is the question. What is the answer? Let's see. Does anyone know the answer? We go to the Great Unwashed, the Mallard Militia, and Mr. Irrigation is going with Deshaun Watson. He gave him a new nickname. Benny in the Box from Alf. That should be my new nickname. That's a good idea because of Anthony's phone call. Who? Anthony, you're making a mess, dude, with that burger eating, you schmuck. Alf said that. Who else? Kerry Collins from Patrick DJ Spin in San Diego. Fatty Days from Robbie the Mariner fan. Ripman's answer. Robin Vegas is the guest by Chain in Des Moines. What say you, Lorena? Jack Skellington.
