While Hunt mourns the pain he has caused Bryce, Bryce spirals, causing her to question whether anything she and Hunt had was real. It is only when Fury brings news of Sandriel’s possession of Hunt as her property that Bryce reminds herself that Hunt is her friend and she does not want him to return to the archangel he loathes. Despite Bryce’s efforts to persuade Sandriel to sell Hunt to Bryce, Ruhn intercedes, only for one of Bryce’s many secrets to be revealed to the world.
