I can't tell you how many times I've heard this from Christians who desire to be faithful but feel their energy, strength, and moral fortitude failing them. That's because they're trying to do things on their own--but God never meant us to grow, mature, or change in isolation. God uses others to help us to change. If we're going to change our affections, if we're going to reject sin and receive the new life in Christ, it's going to be as part of a community.
