How do we improve PHD employability in Corporate Aouth Africa?

Prof Ruksana Osman – Professor of Higher Education and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Witwatersrand.Dr. Amaleya Goneos-Malka - Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pretoria When Nelson Mandela said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’, I’m sure he didn’t think that today, 21 years into democracy, in the country that he fought for and sacrificed most of his life to build, South Africa’s highest academically qualified people, its PhDs and other postgraduates, would now be discriminated against and outcast from the recruitment mix, due to their academic education. When did we become a society that treasures the ordinary and penalises our top talented people on their academic achievements?
