Above all, there is always something greater. One must realize that even the most powerful has someone more powerful above him. Attaining the divine state is the ultimate purpose of human birth. A true guide who leads us toward that divine state is the Guru. Therefore, when we listen to the words of the Guru and offer our reverence to him, we are, in fact, progressing toward that higher state.The Guru and God are not separate.
