This song was born out of a writing prompt from my wife. I write a lot of "message" songs, but she challenged me to put more of myself into it. "Knocks" is the result of that, and I may have overshot. "Knocks" is personal and raw, tapping into the sense of exhaustion that we all feel from the intensity of the past few years.
