Debra facilitates home buyer seminars in the community to help families realize their dream of becoming home ownersIn her role as a Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist (CPRES), Debra works with families, heirs, and attorneys of deceased clients to assist in the sale and transfer of real estate assets. In addition to being a full-time Real Estate Agent, Debra is a philanthropist and compassionate public servant. Debra is the Founder and President of the Yvonne McCalla Foundation Incorporated (YMF Inc.); a non-profit breast cancer awareness organization. Debra was inspired by her mother’s experience both as an oncology nurse and breast cancer patient. Debra saw firsthand, the importance of educating and empowering women to take a proactive role as it pertains to their breast health. Debra has always loved working to empower, advocate, and help families to realize their dreams and optimize their potential. Before a career switch to real estate, for fourteen years Debra was employed by the State of New Jersey Office of Training and Professional Development (NJOTPD) delivering competency-based training for employees of the Division of Children and Families. While employed by NJOTPD Debra was instrumental in training over 7000 social work professionals throughout the State of New Jersey. Debra worked as a social worker consulting, supervising, and training social workers throughout the New York foster care system. Debra’s career as a Social Worker has prepared her to negotiate and advocate for her Real Estate clients.Debra often says that she's a” Real Estate Agent with a Social Worker’s Heart.”Debra is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She is a former board member of YWCA; the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world. In addition, Debra served as a member of the board of directors of Candice’s Sickle Cell Fund Incorporated (2001-2008). Debra currently serves as Commissioner of the Fair Rental Housing Board in the City of Elizabeth. Debra is also a Commissioner of the Union County Improvement Authority, NJ. Debra earned a Master of Social Work degree from Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University (May 2000) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (December 1997).
