New Day Ep 5 - Leaving Survival Mode - You Have More Than You Know

Today’s episode is Part Two of our survival mode conversation,  and this one is about leaving it.New Day Ep 5 – Leaving Survival Mode: You Have More Than You Know is your reminder that you are not underqualified… you are under-acknowledged. By you. If last week helped you recognize survival mode, this week we take inventory and build from it. Because surviving taught you more than you’ve given yourself credit for, and it’s time to stop playing small with earned wisdom. You don’t need more time. You need to trust what you already carry. This episode is your evidence. In This Episode • Why high-capacity women chronically underestimate themselves• How survival mode makes resilience feel “normal” instead of exceptional• The difference between humility and self-minimizing• Why confidence isn’t knowing, it’s deciding you’ll figure it out• How to shift from waiting to movingPractical Activation Steps Complete your evidence audit:– List three hard things you survived– Name three people you’ve helped– Identify three moments you figured it out with zero instructions Circle one area where you’ve been hesitating and take one visible action this weekReplace “I’m not ready” with “I’ll adjust as I go”Share one capability you usually downplay, out loudEpisode Affirmations I am more capable than I’ve allowed myself to believeI honor the wisdom I earnedI move with what I haveJournal Prompt Where am I discounting my lived experience, and how has it already prepared me?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/new-day-with-sybil-amuti--5408422/support.This show is. brought to you by The Great Girlfriends - A media company dedicated to the empowerment of women in community.Got a show idea? New Day Ep 4 - Are You In Survival Mode?

Today’s episode is a loving wake-up call: Are you in survival mode… and calling it “just life”?I’m breaking down how high-functioning women normalize their resilience, discount their lived experience, and quietly underestimate themselves. If you’ve been saying “I just need more time” or “I’m still learning” while sitting on a mountain of earned wisdom, this conversation is your interruption. In This Episode • The subtle signs you’re still operating in survival mode• Why humility can quietly turn into self-minimizing• How resilience becomes invisible when you’ve worn it too long• The difference between being unprepared and being unwilling to trust yourself• Why confidence is built through evidence, not feelings Practical Activation Steps Conduct an evidence audit: List three hard things you survivedName three people you’ve helped or impactedIdentify three moments you figured it out with zero instructionsChoose one area where you’ve been “waiting” — and take one imperfect action this weekReplace “I’m not ready” with “I’ll figure it out”Episode Affirmations I am more capable than I’ve allowed myself to believeI honor the wisdom I earnedI move with what I haveJournal Prompt Where am I discounting my lived experience, and how has it already prepared me?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/new-day-with-sybil-amuti--5408422/support.This show is. brought to you by The Great Girlfriends - A media company dedicated to the empowerment of women in community.Got a show idea? Today’s episode is a conversation with award-winning author and cultural trailblazer Amy DuBois Barnett about her debut novel, If I Ruled the World, and what it means for women to stop following other people’s playbooks and write their own rules instead. New Day Ep 2 - The Reason Why Momentum May Be Hard For You

In this episode, I’m breaking down overthinking and why it quietly kills momentum. If you’ve been stuck in analysis, waiting for clarity, or afraid to choose wrong, this conversation explains what’s happening and how to get moving again. Overthinking feels responsible, but it’s often fear disguised as preparation. And the longer you stay in your head, the harder it becomes to trust your next step. This episode is about interrupting that loop and rebuilding momentum in real-time.In This Episode • Why overthinking is a fear response, not a strategy• How perfectionism delays progress• The real cost of waiting to feel ready• Why momentum creates clarity, not the other way aroundPractical Activation Steps1. Put a deadline on one decision you’ve been avoiding2. Ask for the next step, not the final outcome3. Use movement to reset your nervous system (walk, stretch, clean)4. Make one imperfect decision on purpose this weekAffirmations I trust myself to decide and adjustMotion brings clarityI do not need certainty to beginJournal Prompt What decision have I delayed because I’m afraid to be wrong, and what changes if I choose anyway?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/new-day-with-sybil-amuti--5408422/support.This show is. brought to you by The Great Girlfriends - A media company dedicated to the empowerment of women in community.Got a show idea? New Day Ep 1- Wake Up Your Power

I'm back girlfriends, and it's a NEW DAY!In this premiere episode, I’m talking about what happens when we trade alignment for comfort and slowly disconnect from our own power. This conversation is about recognizing where you’ve been shrinking, over-accommodating, or choosing approval over truth and how to start reversing that pattern in real life, not just in theory. If you’ve felt stuck, drained, or unsure of yourself lately, this episode explains why and gives you practical steps to reconnect with your voice and your decisions. In This Episode • How “keeping the peace” can weaken self-trust• The signs you’re playing small without realizing it• Why power is built on self-trust, not confidence• What changes when you choose alignment over approvalPractical Activation Steps1. Do a power audit: Identify one area where you’re avoiding honesty to stay comfortable2. Practice one direct statement this week without over-explaining3. Make one daily decision based on alignment, not approvalEpisode Affirmations I am safe to take up spaceI trust my decisionsI choose alignment over approvalJournal Prompt Where am I staying comfortable instead of being honest, and what would change if I stopped?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/new-day-with-sybil-amuti--5408422/support.This show is. brought to you by The Great Girlfriends - A media company dedicated to the empowerment of women in community.Got a show idea?
