How things look when the going is tough

We know that the economic growth rate is low and the unemployment rate is high. Despite load shedding and all the other challenges facing households and firms, there is still some life left in the economy. Yesterday, Statistics South Africa announced the results of the second quarter's Quarterly Employment Survey. This gives us another picture of how things look when the going gets tough.
