How to Create And Fulfil The VISION For Your Empire (5 Steps)

from Empire Builders with Nick James · host Nick James

How do you take the concept of vision at the highest level and put it into the detail of the day to day operation? Nick explains the 5 steps that every leader needs to take to be able to move from the big sky creative vision to actually making it happen in a business on a granular level, day to day. He shares great content and advice as someone who is a natural visionary leader but has had to educate himself on how to create the structure that means everyone in the business can see how they are contributing towards the vision and moving towards the goals of the organisation.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I realised I was stuck, good at sales and marketing but not very good at strategy and planning. I invested in my education and learned about strategy, vision and planning Purpose – why does your business exist? What purpose does your business serve? The purpose never changes. What is your mission? This is finite and measurable and will be set for 3 to 5 years in the future. Values – what are the standards you hold yourself to? Every decision I take is filtered through the values of the company. The team should work collaboratively on values - you need to include others in the values if you want them to believe in them and be committed to the journey. Every year we decide on 3 big annual priorities for the year. The priorities are broken down into quarterly goals and then smaller goals on a granular level. It’s about having the big picture and alongside the granular detail. There is a balance to be achieved between structure and vision.   BEST MOMENTS ‘I felt I was being creative but there was no real outcome’ I had an aspiration to create a movement  - a community of users, staff and team We track 3 big numbers – revenue, number of clients served and number of tickets sold.   VALUABLE RESOURCES Empire Builders Podcast   ABOUT THE HOST Nick James Nick dropped out of university at the age of 21 and failed spectacularly with his first coaching business, which forced him to take a £16k/yr telesales job.  Within 12 months he was the top performer and left to start his second business at 24. This time he discovered a winning formula and before long had a multi-six-figure company. He then made a huge mistake which nearly put him out of business and cost him £50,000 in personal cash! Fortunately, Nick kept it afloat, turned it around, and sold that business 2 years later in a seven-figure deal.  He then co-founded a multi-million-pound marketing company, which he exited in 2015, and created Expert Empires. Today, Expert Empires is known as the UK's number one business event for Experts, with world-renowned celebrity speakers like Gary Vaynerchuk, Grant Cardone, Chalene Johnson, David Goggins, and Lewis Howes gracing the stage. Nick also specialises in helping Coaches, Consultants, Speakers, Trainers, and Authors take their businesses from zero to six figures and beyond through his Expert Empires Mastermind programme.
