As human beings, pain and suffering are an inevitable part of our life.

When we experience pain, whether it is physical or mental suffering, we tend to do one of two things: we either block the pain or we drown in the pain.

When we block the pain, we resist it, we push it away and avoid experiencing it. When we drown in the pain, we are so preoccupied by it that it becomes all consuming. We feel overwhelmed by it, as if we were literally drowning. Our life seems to revolve around nothing but our pain.

In both cases, we add a layer of mental suffering to our initial pain. While the initial pain may be unavoidable, the layers we wrap around it, which amplify the pain are avoidable.

Tune in to find out how we can lessen our suffering in 5 steps.
