Everybody wants more leads, leads, leads, leads, leads. And if you're a business owner, it's like, how do you capture those leads to better leverage and scale your business? So what I wanna do is get into the key steps. I've identified five key steps that really help any business owner.
And so what I wanna do is get into that right now. Hey guys, if you're like me, you've always had a desire to do more. And deep inside, you've known there's a way and a possibility for you to achieve your dreams, the lifestyle, and achieve the freedom you've always wanted. Because we have what it takes to get things done and learn from others and get the mindset to achieve the dreams we've always wanted.
Welcome to SB Warriors. So if you're a business owner, you've been struggling, hey, I'm just not getting enough leads. I think I can do more. I know our business can do more.
So what I wanna do is break down some of the key features that I believe every business should be doing. And if you're not, you wanna take maybe one or two of these steps that you're kind of going, you know, these are kind of things I'm lacking that we're gonna integrate. So the first thing you need to do is understand that, you know what? I need to advertise.
And that is sometimes surprising, you're like, oh no, I already know that I get it. But surprisingly, I come across people that do not understand the fact that they need to advertise. Some people believe that things can happen organically. And while they can happen organically, the thing that organic ability, until you have developed an audience where you have a list that you can control, that organic ability to reach people for your services, for your products, is basically like rolling the dice.
And if anyone's played craps before, I'm not a gambler, but you understand what it means to roll the dice. Like you don't know what number you're gonna hit, when you're gonna hit that number, and how it's ultimately gonna affect your business. So one thing we're doing is to wrap our head around, understand that we need to put some money into some sort of platform, some sort of advertising process. So that advertising process can then yield us clients, which will yield us more money, or yield us people looking at our products, that yield us more money.
So once we accept that, that is something that every major company does. So what we're doing is we're not recreating a wheel, we're looking at what other companies do, and we're mirroring it. So if you're gonna well, you know what, I don't believe you, you don't have to believe me. You have to look at what people who are successful, what those successful companies do.
And if you don't think Apple advertises, despite its well-known name, that is the biggest thing they do. All right, so once we got that down, so let's focus on the next step, step two, which I call creating an offer. And so when I say create an offer, what I want you to think of, and I always say this if you've listened to some of the other episodes, when you create an offer, you are creating an ability for someone to enter your world. So entering somebody's world is based upon the idea that you are trying to invite somebody.
And I talk about things as dating, and so when I talk about things as dating, you're inviting somebody into this world, and just like a peacock, ruffles its feathers, and makes this big, beautiful design to get people into their world of mating, well, you know what, we have to have our own way of doing that for people who are interested in our products and services. So we have to have a sexy offer. And what is it that your idea of customer would go, wow, that is interesting. Now it doesn't have to be the actual thing that you're selling.
So if I'm selling designer handkerchiefs, just an example, you know, I don't have to create an exact offer for the handkerchief, but I could go, you know, what is something that that person who uses these, would they want? So maybe if they get a designer handkerchief, very like suits. So you can create an offer around suits, so then they can then take them to the next step, which is your offer. It might be like a tie, it might be something, something that's complimentary.
And if it's something that's directly related, say I'm a, what do you call it, say I work in a local space, and I can give a value discount, and know that I can eventually bring them through my, what we call value ladder, which is a step in your pricing scale. So as price goes up, so does value. A perfect example would be McDonald's. And you've probably heard of this before, but remember when McDonald's, every time you went there, it was like to supersize that.
And they made millions of dollars. Their lead product was losing their money. But once they said supersize, everyone's like, yeah, I'll do that. And automatically it became an upsell, where they were increasing the value, the cart value, which is the person purchasing the item, was purchasing more and allowed the company to make more money.
Well, they'd gone away from that model, but they still ask, you know, would you like fries, would you like a drink? So they can increase the sale. Same thing's true for you. All right, so once we've established like we need to create an offer, then we need to understand that we're gonna have to advertise.
And there are multiple places to advertise today. And of course you have the big huge billboard. You know what, you want to spend $15,000 on the billboard? Knock yourself out.
The only thing I would say is caution you is with billboard advertising, they are effective means to see a lot of eyeballs. But it's just like on a freeway. How many people on a freeway have the time to take down any information, to actually write down that phone number that you put, the website, all the information, but it could be used as a branding play. I would say that that would not be my first choice of advertising means, but I'm putting it out there because a lot of times people are like, oh, I want to be on TV, I want to be on a billboard.
And it's like, well, you know what, if you can get the same reach, the same amount of people, and not spend so much money, also even target who you actually want to reach. So we know who that avatar person is, who that idea of customers, what if we did that instead, okay? So then we're gonna now look at some of the social platforms that allow you to do that. One of the favorite ones I have is YouTube.
YouTube is a great platform, but it incurs some obstacles which a lot of people aren't comfortable with. And that's video. Video is a great way to communicate to your customer. So when you think of video, it could be a video about your actual offer, it could be a video about your services, it could be a problem story solution, like so if you have a particular service, it's like, hey, you gotta now tell people about your services in a way, and effective means through seeing you, seeing your business.
And some people don't feel comfortable in front of the camera. So that's one obstacle that people have to get around. You can't do it where you're not in front of the camera, but I'll talk about that another time and actually wanna present something to you down a little bit later, but let's keep moving forward. Facebook, everybody knows Facebook, everybody's heard Facebook.
And the reason why Facebook is so well known is because it is effective. Now there are things that are changing about Facebook, but you cannot deny that there are millions of people on that platform. And if your person who is your ideal customer is happening to be on Facebook, well, you'd be kind of silly not to advertise on there. And it is there, it's a ability to take both image, video ads and even live video for your business' means to get more reach.
Next one is Instagram. You guys know that, hopefully you know that Instagram is owned by Facebook. And if you're in the category where you don't think social media is important today, I'm hoping you're not. And there's so many statistics that show how many hours a day that people are spending on social media.
And it's mind blowing that people are literally walking around with their heads on their phone, communicating, watching, consuming content. So what we're saying is they're there, why not get our advertising message in front of them so that we can then draw them to our world? Next one, a lot of people don't use, and it's Twitter. Twitter is probably my least favorite and nothing against Twitter, Twitter does have a means to distribute information amongst the people who are on the platform.
So since I'm not an expert at Twitter, I would say you would have to know how your particular target demographic uses Twitter, and if they're there and you know they're there because you use Twitter, guess what? Go ahead, if I advertise there, it's a little more expensive, but if you're able to figure out that pattern of, and create that offer, put it on there, and I'm able to get customers for it, even better. So next one is LinkedIn. LinkedIn is great for people who you're targeting, business professionals.
You maybe have a client service that you're targeting those people. So LinkedIn is the awesome strategy. So if I knew I wanted to target CEOs, I know they're there because they tend to be on that platform. I know certain organizations tend to be on the platform.
So after LinkedIn, one of the things I want to consider is banner ads and video ads. And the reason why I say advertising, basically advertising on websites. And the reason why I say that is because your demographic will go to a particular location to look at and consume content. So if I am a beauty person and I'm in a beauty field, I know that people tend to go to certain beauty websites to look at information.
And the same thing's true, if I happen to be targeting people in the travel niche, well guess what? They're going to go to particular websites, whether it's Expedia or Kayak or all these different TripRviser, all these different websites. That's where people are going to go. So if I know where my eyeballs go, then that's where I can advertise.
I can buy banner ads, I can put video ads on those particular websites. And you can even target it just to a certain geographical area. So now we've kind of covered some different means for people to actually advertise on different locations. Then now let's go, okay, let's actually start implementing and start figuring out a way that we can target those people to the most effective, effective range.
So when I say we want to target those people, that means that we jump in these platforms, we want to talk about the characteristics that people use your products and services. So a great example would be, if let's just say hypothetically, I'm in the beauty niche and I'm using this again, so say I'm a salon owner. And I'm a salon owner, and I know that the majority of my clients tend to be women who fall into their working professionals, and they need to make sure that they maintain their hairstyles for their business. So if they need to maintain their hairstyle, they're more likely to come to the salon and pay money for the haircut, for the color they need, for the style they want to make themselves a professional.
So I'll now say that is a woman who maybe is 27 to 55, and I know that they're gonna have certain likes and needs. So one of the things that people will overlook is, okay, you got the woman thing down, you got the maybe you're trying to target income level, but I know some of the social platforms don't allow you to do that anymore. They usually let you say, I always own makes over 50,000, so when you're over 100,000 years, you can target those people. Now some platforms have gone away with that since the whole Facebook issue that popped up.
But what you can do is target people who like things like Louis Vuitton. So you know that a Louis Vuitton bag isn't a cheap bag, so someone who's more likely to have an interest in Louis Vuitton is somebody who's likely to have an income to match that. Some people target things like TV shows. So I might go, you know what, my idea customer probably watches the Bachelor.
So why don't I target that? And that way I'm getting people who I know are in that demographic, and by knowing your demographic, knowing your audience, your avatar, you can then start going, hey, putting out those message to that person. And so that falls true for any of the platforms I previously mentioned. You can simply do that and then go, okay, boom, I'm gonna go after that person.
And sometimes you have to tweak and play and test. You have to be open to testing these things because you can't say, oh, it's gonna work on the first shot. It's like, no, when you built your business, when you did what you do now, like it didn't work on the first shot. Like sometimes you had to try different things and you might get some success in one area.
And then I would encourage you, don't just stop at that. Oh, I got it working one way and that's the only way. It's like, you know what, maybe there's a time where you can generate, so you generate 50 new customers off of this advertising campaign. And it's like, okay, well, you know what, let me see if I did this, if I can improve the results.
And like, it's how to react to the market and understand its needs and understand how it reacts to the information you're putting out there. And then the one, the last thing is we need to be able to capture our leads to take an action. And I'm probably have to create a separate, probably video tutorial to kind of explain this. But if I'm trying to get people into my world, it's like I'm gonna go back to dating.
So if I'm going, hey, I am a single person, what's not, but if I'm a single person and I'm saying I'm on the market and I want people to call me to let me know I can go out and take a date. Now, if I go out and I throw out this information, but I never really, you know, give somebody my phone number, I never give them a message or contact or anything so someone can communicate to me is all I'm doing is telling the world that I'm available, but if they don't know how to get in touch with me, how are they gonna follow up? They're not. So what we have to do is have the ability to capture that information.
And what I've seen is one of the frustrating things I've seen for businesses is they'll throw something up on Groupon, but they'll never capture the information. So you just gave up huge value by giving it a discount, giving away that person of those proceeds to Groupon in order to get people into your world, but you never capture the information. So we have to wait to identify and capture people by sending them to a location, which we would call a landing page sometimes. Maybe it's a messenger bot, maybe it's a direct message, also known as a DM.
So we can figure out different ways to communicate with those people, bring them in, and we want to then have the ability to follow up with them if needed. All right, so we're gonna, I'm gonna stop here and we're gonna get into some of the civics and I'm gonna encourage you guys, you might wanna join the Facebook group where I will actually show video tutorials of how this actually works. So it's not this unknown, like, oh wow, this, you know, everything you said makes sense, but I don't know how to execute it. So if you're looking for help on how the actual execution takes place, what I actually do is go to Facebook.
