Do you ever feel that it is hard to make genuine friendships as an adult? That it doesn’t come as easy as it once did when you were younger? On today’s episode we are going to be talking with my friend Lucie about how to cultivate friendships as an adult, how to get what YOU need out of a friendship, as well as how to be the friend that you would want in your life.  Lucie Bacchiochi has been working as an educator for the last 8 years and has had a career working in the Child Welfare field for 23 years. She thrives on helping families and students set goals and strategies on how to get the positive outcome that they want to accomplish while being supportive and understanding. There is something important in friendships when you're feeling like people are superficially connecting to you or that the connection is not very strong. Ask yourself, “how intentional are you about this friendship?”  If you were to use intentionality then perhaps you wouldn't be feeling that intentional about keeping this friendship. Listen to this week’s Journey to Happy to see how you can be intentional about friendships while staying true to yourself. Bio for Lucie:  My name is Lucie Bacchiochi and I’ve been working as an educator for the last 8 years and I had a career working in the Child Welfare field for 23 years. I thrive on helping families and students set goals and strategies on how to get the positive outcome that they want to accomplish while being supportive and understanding. I met Olga over 10 years ago and our passion to help people and positive outlook on life made our friendship blossom over the years. My proudest accomplishment has to be being a mother to my three beautiful children who have taught me more than ever to live a mindful life and to cherish family and friends. I believe that motherhood is the greatest experience in a woman’s life, but it comes with plenty of challenges including keeping healthy relationships in your life. 3 Takeaways: How to make new friends as an adult. The power of friendship and how much it needs to be valued. Why intentionality is important for authentic friendships. And, of course, those friends and family are right. But the innocent, starry-eyed parents-to-be are usually too busy picking out onesies and paint colors and wipe warmers to pay much attention to the warnings. Plus–in the couples defense–the only real way to know what that bundle of joy is going to do to your wallet and waistline and Wednesday night poker games is to actually bundle that joy up, put it in a carseat, and bring it home. After nearly three years as the founder and CEO of RINGR, I feel much the same way. I had heard what startup life was like. I had seen several friends go through the process themselves. But I didn’t truly know anything until I experienced it myself. My perspective was so clouded by user journeys and logo design and pitch decks that I couldn’t possibly wrap my brain around the impending roller coaster ride.“A Sound Star
