How To Push The Next Generation Forward? With Kwamane Harris

from The Black & Raww Podcast · host Tinokuda Bvunzawabaya

On today’s episode of the podcast, you’ll hear from Kwamane Harris. Kwamane has worked in various social care settings in the US. He is also the Author of Pushing the Generation forward. My book is designed to encourage children, young people and adults to find their purpose by empowering the next generation. This means that despite the trauma, hardship, poverty, oppression, racism, and generational curses we’ve experienced in life we have to develop the mindset to Push the Generations Forward for our children’s children. Kwamane comes onto the podcast to talk about his new book, how we can build positive relationships with young people, mental health within social care, intergenerational wealth and how the next generation can be supported in reaching their full potential. Here is a little about Kwamane’s book: “Pushing the Generations Forward” is a positive mindset that shifts focus from the hardships of one’s life to an idea of hope and a mindset of pushing towards a better future, pushing past all of the tough times so that you can make a better future for the next generation. This paradigm shift replaces the struggle for survival with the opportunity for personal growth, the discovery of a special Calling and the creation of one's best self.  Significantly, a Purpose centred outside of oneself, with the goal of building strength and resilience, not just for ourselves, but for future generations, is an integral part of the process of Pushing the Generations Forward. https://linktr.ee/kilo_ptgf Pushing the Generation Forward – Kwamane Harris  Kwamane’s Website  Kwamane’s Instagram/ Kwamane's LinkedIn Resources: https://www.scie.org.uk/children/relationships#:~:text=Relationship%2Dbased%20social%20work%20means,of%20service%20design%20and%20delivery. https://www.iriss.org.uk/resources/insights/relationship-based-practice-emergent-themes-social-work-literature https://www.basw.co.uk/resources/relationship-based-practice-emergent-themes-social-work-literature https://www.communitycare.co.uk/2022/01/26/two-thirds-of-social-workers-experiencing-deteriorating-mental-health-because-of-work-finds-survey/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twlow2pXsv0Stages of Change
