How to relate to your inner critic differently to soften its impact - Ep. 5

from The Mindful Path · host Isabelle Griffith

In this episode, I talk about our inner critic and share some thoughts on who it is, the role it plays in our life, the impact it has on us, and how we can relate to it in a different way to lessen its impact. The inner critic is this voice inside our head which jumps in at times to offer harsh and unsolicited criticism. Its purpose is to protect us from exposing ourselves to hurt, rejection, and pain. It stems from good intentions but tends to undermine our self-worth, our self-love and our self-confidence.  It encourages us to stay within our zone of safety, to think small, play small and live small. In this episode, we explore how to recognise your inner critic and relate to it differently, to help lessen its impact.
