When you operate with excellence, you can expect to see your people stepping up and giving their best. In this episode, Kyle Probert and I speak about how focusing on the things we can control in our lives translates to taking care of ourselves that will ultimately be the foundation of how we respond to situations, big or small and how well we can serve others. Key points covered in this episode:[00:04:46] Jade Green and Kyle Probert check in on each other and share how the current situation can cause many people to snap facing difficult and rocky laps in life and business.[00:07:37] All these things that add stressors into our world layer up bring us to that threshold and stop us from being able to respond. [00:09:42] The power of the WildFit Program and Eric Edmeades. We are adapting the "garbage in, garbage out" mentality with food and realizing the effect of nutrition on our ability to lead and stabilize our energy.[00:18:38] The importance of profile traits in managing a team ensures making and getting the best out of people and ensuring they are happy. [00:19:28] Understanding your team's love languages. Do they need words of affirmation to feel heard or get a pat on the back? Connect with them in ways that work for them.[00:24:08] Think through the years that you've worked in previous companies or teams -- who was that one person you worked for that got the best out of you? Assess what it was that they did for you? [00:26:39] Movement gives us energy; it clears our heads and removes the stresses. It's the releasing of dopamine and all of that that elevates us as well. Notice how the top CEOs and business leaders share one common habit: carving time in the morning to spend on themselves and setting movement and exercise as a daily non-negotiable. [00:30:45] Are you disconnected? If there's a high value of health from the leaders in the company, but a lot of the team building activities default to going out for pizza and beer, surely there's a disconnect that has to be addressed.[00:41:18] Showing up on time and presenting yourself well are a few examples that correlate how important it is to do the little things excellently because they make the big things. [00:45:01] If you find people on the job who are not ready to do the work yet, let them go and allow them to serve another business to fill their growth. When they're ready, let them know that the line of connection is still there they can come back to for support. [00:46:44] When we manage the stresses in our world, in our own environment, focusing on the things that we can control rather than the things that we can't is important for leaders.[00:50:37] Many managers practice "butt-kicking" in meetings. That was how they were taught and passed on as a culture. Starting with an icebreaker, breath work, or an attitude of gratitude practice makes a more productive week.__________________________________________________________________________________ABOUT TEAM: ENGINEEREDTeam: Engineered is your go-to podcast for all things team building and business scaling.
