How your Mental health gets in the way of forming connections

from Creating Connection · host Kim Ross

Poor mental health, such as chronic anxiety and/or depression can grossly interfere with your ability to connect with and trust yourself, and connect with others.   In this episode I touch on some signs that this might be happening to you. If you have been experiencing poor mental health for a long time, seek help sooner rather than later.  Everyone's mental health journey is different.  Some people experience brief period of poor mental health, for others it is a life time commitment to manage.  Creating connection is one element of an overall intentional self-care plan.   You can access a range of resources that can help here, or seek out individual help through your therapist, GP or other trained support.    =============================  Thank YOU for joining me on Creating Connection.  What does connection mean to you?  I see it as the antidote to loneliness that is so prevalent throughout the world. "Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” ― Brené Brown To increase connection start with an authentic and accepting understanding of yourself; then of others; then of a deep appreciation for how we are all connected to create positive change in the world.  By embracing your authenticity you invite confidence and calm into you life. If this sound a bit overwhelming, it doesn't have to be. Using gentle, simple and practical strategies, you CAN strengthen connection with yourself, others and the natural world. If you like this episode and want to put more intentional self-care into your life,  subscribe so you don't miss upcoming episodes. I am always keen to hear of what questions you would like me to answer, or what topics you would like me to talk about.  And if you know a great guest for the podcast you can let me know that as well.  ============================= I love hearing your feedback, questions and observations.
