Hello everyone, I’m Nevena.Jelena (00:01)Ja sam Jelena. I’m Jelena.Nevena (00:02)I dobrodošli u novu epizodu Unlock Your Serbian sa Jelenom i Nevenom. And welcome to a new episode of Unlock Your Serbian with Jelena and Nevena.Jelena (00:08)Dobro došli u još jednu epizodu našeg podkasta. I danas razgovaramo o tome šta ljudi u Srbiji vole da jedu. Welcome to another episode of our podcast. And today we’re talking about what people in Serbia like to eat. Just to mention, if we sound a bit different, that’s because today we’re recording a bit earlier than usual. We can tell our listeners that we always record in the morning, but at a specific time, usually around 9 or 10 a.m., and now we had to record a few hours earlier, so we’re still a bit sleepy. That’s right, we’re still waking up and drinking our first coffee, so you can wake up with us if you’re listening in the morning while going to work. Today we’re talking about a topic that’s basically connected to the Serbian mentality. And before we started recording, I mentioned to Nevena that today, when we’re recording this, it’s January 20th, a big religious celebration in Serbia called Saint John’s Day, which is my family’s slava. I also told Nevena that we’re preparing a dish called pihtije. I don’t know if any of you have tried or heard of pihtije. We can briefly explain what it is – it’s a traditional dish, and I’d say it’s mostly liked by older generations. Do you know what pihtije are, Nevena?Become a member on Send us your questions!
