Hunting Public Lands from Horseback

from Flush Em N Dust Em Podcast · host Nick and Tyler

Matt is from the Sandhills of Nebraska and hunts differently than most of us. Matt hunts almost exclusively from horseback and to top that, hunts public lands in many different states. His favorite state to hunt is Wyoming and one of his favorite birds to hunt is the Sage Grouse. Matt has only been hunting from horseback for a few years and has had to learn a lot of things on the fly. Anything from knowing how to lead your horse, navigating the land to try and avoid fences, and more has helped bring him success in the field. His dogs are large running dogs and it is typical for them to put in 35-45 miles in a single day! This was a super interesting conversation and we are excited to hear your feedback!
