HURLING: Kildare's Muiris Curtin with Galway Bay FM's Sean Walsh ahead of the Leinster SHC clash with Galway

For the first time in the Leinster championship, Galway face Kildare this Saturday (9th May 2026) where a third consecutive victory will put the Tribesmen within touching distance of qualifying for the All-Ireland series. The last time they met was in the 1980 All-Ireland quarter-final where a Joe Connolly hat-trick inspired Galway to a 5-15 to 1-11 victory.  The maroon and white went on to win a first Liam McCarthy Cup in 57 years.
