I Broke a Generational Pattern With My Son

Last night, something happened with my son that I'll never forget. What started as tears over something seemingly small turned into one of the most healing moments I've ever experienced as a mother. Not just for him. For me. As someone who grew up with trauma, I realised in that moment I wasn't just parenting my son. I was re-parenting the little girl inside of me who never had someone help her process her emotions. It reminded me that every therapy session, every difficult conversation, every tear, every breakthrough and every piece of healing work I've done over the years wasn't just changing my life.
