I Felt the Goodbye Before You Left
from The heartbeat project. Hosted by katpoetik
What happens when you become so accustomed to pain that peace feels unfamiliar? In this episode, I unpack the emotional exhaustion of living ten steps ahead, anticipating heartbreak before it happens, grieving people who are still present, and questioning whether that feeling in your chest is intuition, anxiety, or a defense mechanism built from everything you've survived. There’s a difference between healing from pain and simply becoming immune to it. I’m learning that I don’t have to rehearse every goodbye just to survive the possibility of one. I can recognize patterns without writing the ending. I can feel deeply without allowing fear to become prophecy. Because maybe healing isn’t learning how to feel less. Maybe it’s learning how to stop grieving everything twice Sincerely, Katpoetik
