Stand-up comedian, writer, and actor Colton Dowling (Some of This Is Bad) pulls up to the Messy Thoughts studio — and within about ninety seconds he's already announced he's uncomfortable and asked if this is "a card." BJ and LeBron take that as a personal challenge, and what follows is one of the most gloriously derailed hours we've recorded. We open on BBL recovery times and the horror of everything going straight to your ass, before Colton gets into whether you're legally allowed to fire your therapist (and whether the problem is the therapist or… you). BJ steers us into the naked power-walker of downtown Austin, LeBron fights for the sanctity of clapping at the end of a movie, and somewhere in there Colton reveals the PF Chang's interview that quietly ended his modeling career. The back half goes fully off the rails: a movie tangent where the three of us basically just name films we half-remember and describe the plots wrong, a Players Club recap that raises more questions than it answers, a heated referendum on whether LA is fake, and the sacred bond between a mom and her lipstick mirror-notes. Colton also opens up about the Paris he'd blocked out for twelve years and why, these days, he "doesn't dance anymore." It gets real, it gets stupid, it gets H-E-B-reverent. BJ, LeBron, and Colton close it out with plans to flee to Spain and one lingering question about Katy Perry in space. The thoughts are messy.
