In this episode, Lindsey talks with Alan Hodges, President of the Idaho Trucking Association.  Alan gives his key insights into the trucking industry and outreach efforts were shared. Hodges, who has a long-standing career in trucking and moved to Idaho for its favorable regulations, introduced a truck simulator initiative aimed at educating high school students about career opportunities in trucking. Since its launch, the simulator has engaged over 1,200 students, receiving positive feedback for its interactive format at schools, FFA events, and conventions. The discussion highlighted the importance of shifting perceptions around trucking as a viable career path, addressing misconceptions, and promoting job diversity to combat the current driver shortage in Idaho, where 5,000 positions remain unfilled.
