Thank you Iliana Belnic for joining me on my Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast as I celebrate my 9th Anniversary of doing what I love.  Like me, Iliana does what she loves as well!! As a result, living a purposeful life that gives each of us meaning.

Meet Iliana Belinc.

Iliana is the Founder and Executive Director of PalsNPets. PalsNPets is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness with pets in interim shelters.

Iliana’s deep compassion for animals and people experiencing homelessness comes from her own struggles and the feeling of being lost for a long time. Developing PalsNPets became a way for Iliana to find her purpose and serve others.  It all began with memories of her grandfather, reminiscing about their cherished time together in her youth.

Iliana’s Takeaways.

“Building the foundation of PalsNPets allowed me to offer trust and self-belief to people experiencing homelessness and their pets. From being disconnected, to creating a supportive organization, I learned that trust and receiving support are our birthrights.  Even if they don’t come naturally to everyone.  The love we share with our pets is a window to self-understanding that human interactions alone may not always provide.  It’s not about finding our purpose in life it’s about remembering. It’s been with us all along.  Everyone can make a difference in our communities with the intention of understanding.  Sometimes our toughest life experiences become our greatest gifts.”

In Closing.

Above all, PalsNPets empowers individuals to enhance their pet ownership skills, alleviate the burden on human shelters, and proactively prevent pet abandonment.   Their initiatives promote well-being of both humans and animals.  They help create a safer and happier community.  As you will hear, their efforts enable the shelter staff to concentrate on connecting the individuals to resources and services that cater specifically to their own needs.

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects the well-being and dignity of individuals and their pets. For those experiencing homelessness, their pets often provide companionship, emotional support, and a sense of purpose. By addressing the needs of homeless pets, they recognize the importance of the human-animal bond and the positive impact it can have on mental health and well-being.

Tune in to hear how PalsNPets are making a difference!
