Denise Griffitts interviews Kitt Shapiro, daughter of legendary international star Eartha Kitt. As the daughter and only child of international star, Eartha Kitt, Kitt Shapiro has had an unconventional life and now steps into the arena of entrepreneur, while continuing her role as wife and mother of teenagers/young adults. Kitt Shapiro has established the Simply Eartha lifestyle brand of home décor items based on the organic, holistic philosophies and authentic style that Eartha Kitt taught her. She has created a global wholesale and retail endeavor with products designed as a tribute to her mother. Kitt has been in the fashion and entertainment business all of her life. She grew up speaking French and English while travelling the world with her famous mother. After a successful modeling career in her late teens and twenties, she went on to study interior design and worked in sales and marketing in the fashion industry, before taking on the responsibilities of running her mother’s company. As president of Eartha Kitt Productions for more than 20 years, she honed her skills as a manager and producer of The Eartha Kitt concert tours, shows and projects all over the world. She was an Executive Producer of Eartha Kitt’s CD, “Back in Business”, which was nominated for a GRAMMY Award in 1996.
