Thank you Chelly!Saint Simeon Stylites (circa 390–459 AD), the famous Syrian Christian ascetic who lived for 37 years atop a pillar. He pioneered a unique form of asceticism known as the stylites (from the Greek word stylos, meaning "pillar").
