Inmate found dead in Grenada County / Former DeSoto County pastor sentenced for child sex crimes

An investigation is underway following the death of an inmate in Grenada County. Officials confirm that Everett Lynn Welch Sr. was discovered deceased at the county’s adult detention center on Wednesday. A former DeSoto County teacher and pastor will spend 25 years behind bars for child sex crimes. Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced that Kyle Hilleary, a former PE teacher and minister at Cedar View Baptist Church in Olive Branch, was sentenced on one count of child exploitation.
