Reuters confirmed that $500 million in oil trades were placed 15 minutes before President Trump posted on Truth Social that the US and Iran were holding “productive conversations” about ending the war. The S&P surged 240 points. Oil dropped from $112 to $96 a barrel. Then Iran denied any contact with the United States and called Trump’s claims fake news. The markets reversed. Paul Krugman said anyone with insider knowledge could have made an enormous profit (read Here). This is the same president whose personal phone number is being sold to CEOs and crypto investors, whose staff says access is “out of control,” and who announced a five-day pause on strikes that perfectly aligns with the Monday-to-Friday trading week.
