Dr.Anna Blakney is a Professor of Bioengineering at UBC, COVID-19 vaccine researcher, member of #TeamHalo, and TikTok Star with over 3 million likes and 200 000 followers. Professor Blakney’s lab is a multidisciplinary group of engineers, immunologists, and molecular biologists investigating the interactions between RNA, biomaterials, and the immune system to prevent and treat disease. Aside from leading the Blakney lab, she has amassed millions of views of TikTok as a part of #TeamHalo debunking vaccine myths, dispelling rumors, and educating through short, fun videos!
