Instant Iowa: Iowa WINS the Cy-Hawk! Caden Buhr Saves the Hawkeyes in a 16-13 THRILLER

from Iowa Everywhere · host 712 Media, Keith Murphy, Andy Fales, Murph & Andy, Chris Hassel, Chris Williams, Andrew Downs

Chris Hassel and Andrew Downs react immediately after Iowa survives Iowa State 16-13 to win the Cy-Hawk Trophy and move to 2-0 on the season. Caden Buhr went from one of Iowa's biggest question marks to the hero, drilling the game-winning field goal and delivering the Hawkeyes a massive rivalry victory. After a brutal 2025 Cy-Hawk loss, Iowa finally gets the trophy back in Iowa City. The guys break down an intense game that came down to the final minutes, including Iowa's struggles running the football, the Hawkeyes' short-yardage and goal-line problems, Tim Lester's play-calling, and the decision to lean heavily on Hank Brown. Did Hank Brown officially win Iowa's quarterback job? Jeremy Hecklinski never saw the field, and the guys discuss what that could mean heading into Iowa's next game and the upcoming Big Ten schedule. Tony Diaz once again showed why he could be one of Iowa's most dangerous offensive weapons, while Cam Buffington delivered a monster performance for the Hawkeye defense with 15 tackles. Hassel and Downs also give Iowa State and Jimmy Rogers plenty of credit for making this a legitimate battle and discuss why Cyclone fans should still feel encouraged despite the loss. Plus, the guys look around college football, explain why Iowa's 2-0 record matters more than how the wins look, and discuss a Big Ten landscape that suddenly looks very different. The Cy-Hawk Trophy is BACK in Iowa City. Iowa is 2-0. It's an emotional Cy-Hawk reaction on Instant Iowa, presented by Fareway Meat & Grocery. Learn more about your ad choices.
