Intentions and The Whisper

from SPEAK DEEN · host Nana-aisha

This is a writing to myself. A reminder I need… often. Maybe you to do. And when next you post that reminder, that verse, that hadith — and the thought creeps in that you're only doing it to be seen, not for Allah — remind yourself:It’s from the Shaytaan (waswas).Renew your intention. Say to yourself: This is for Allah. For His sake. For His pleasure. For His Jannah.Don’t let the whispers of Shaytaan be the reason you miss out on that mercy, that reward, that connection — that roadway to Jannah. You might not get reviews. No comments. No likes. No reposts. No creativity. No engagement. You might feel alone, unworthy, or useless. That’s normal. You're human. Not a rock. You have feelings — everyone does. But still — keep going.Keep supporting yourself.Don’t despair.Don’t let Shaytaan laugh at you.Make him cry instead.Cry over, losing. Cry over your strength. Cry over your victory."Sufficient for me is Allah, and He is the best disposer of my affairs."Let that be your strength. Your validation. Your pledge. Your anthem.Of course — it’s easier said than done. It’s not as smooth as it sounds.Yes — you’re human. Weak, sinful, full of shortcomings.Yes — you crave validation, motivation, praise, and dopamine highs. But when you fix your eyes on the destination rather than the discomfort of the journey —You’ll start seeking all these needs from your Lord, not His servants. It’s time.Stop hurting yourself.Stop watching theirs.Stop feeding the waswas.Stop self-sabotaging.Let go of “They’ll think I’m acting holy” and the mother of all — negativity.Keep posting.Keep pushing.Keep reminding. And most importantly, focus on the destination.I'm still learning, I'm still struggling. But I'm choosing to keep going. Have you ever felt this way?
